Meet the Team

Over its 40-year history, volunteers have been the backbone of Hospice Foundation Geelong.

The foundation’s current Board of Directors is a team of dedicated and community-minded volunteers. Board members are from broad vocational backgrounds and bring with them a range of experiences and multidisciplinary skills.

David is a Chartered Accountant and has held various positions in the corporate world as Finance Director, Chief Financial Officer, Group Accountant, Company Secretary combined with experience working in insolvency and corporate financial troubleshooting.

Jill is a registered nurse with a Grad Dip in Extended Care Nursing (Palliative Care). She joined the board in 2014.

About Ian

Ian Grant is a specialist Palliative Care doctor who has worked as part of the Barwon Health Palliative Care Team since 2005. Inspired by Dr Trevor Banks, he moved from General Practice, and is proud to continue Dr. Banks’ legacy with Hospice Foundation Geelong.

About Amanda

Amanda is a Nurse of many years experience, having completed her training at the Alfred Hospital. She has worked both in the For-Profit and Not-for-Profit Community sectors, and in acute Hospital settings. She is now working as a Practice Nurse in a General Practice. She lives in Torquay and is a member of the Torquay Rotary Club.

About Pam

Pam is a registered Div 1 Nurse, who has worked predominately in Emergency Medicine at the Barwon Health Emergency Dept until she retired in 2022. She has also worked at Weipa Hospital in Cape York, Geelong Withdrawal Unit, Barwon Medical Imaging and Sea Views Manor Aged Care Facility.

The Board is assisted by our Hospice Coordinator, Public Officer and Company Secretary Pam Morrison and our Finance Officer, Maja Merc.

Our team is committed to the foundation’s mission to ensure our community has access to high quality, holistic end-of-life care. Their dedication will see the foundation being able to continue its invaluable work for years to come.
